Shoulder Pain

Shoulder Pain

Treatment Recommended :

The SLAP tear (tear in the ring of cartilage around shoulder socket), shoulder dislocation and rotator cuff injury are the common shoulder pain injuries caused by sports. These injuries may cause pain that you may not be able to pinpoint clubbed with a reduction in range of motion.

The shoulder joint is an extremely complicated joint that is critical for the rotational ability of the arm. When injured or degenerated, this joint can cause tremendous disability. The shoulder joint’s rotational abilities are governed by a group of muscles known as the rotator cuff muscles. Injury to the rotator cuff tendons and muscles is one of the most common injuries sustained by the shoulder and can lead to significant decreases in range of motion. Another tendon commonly associated with shoulder pain is the biceps tendon. Shoulder pain can also be caused by injury to shoulder cartilage, or labrum. Injury to or degeneration of the AC, or acromioclavicular, joint is also a potential cause of shoulder pain. While the AC joint is the joint between the clavicle (collar bone) and the top of the shoulder blade (scapula) and not formally a part of the shoulder joint itself, disorders of the AC joint are usually considered as potential causes of shoulder pain.
